The moon rising over the bridges
I'm a little obsessed with the moon, but 2012 was the first year when I had a powerful enough zoom lens to do it justice. This is my second decent photo of the moon. The first was just the moon on its own, but with this I managed to get the Edinburgh skyline into the picture. It was taken at dusk from the west end of Princes Street, looking over the gardens towards the top of North Bridge, while the moon was fairly low in the sky. Because I was such a way from the buildings, that let me get both them and the moon in focus. I took several photos as the light faded, which give different colours, but overall I think this works best.
